The Hills, which is apparently The Happy Days of reality shows, has yet another spin off in the works and this time it's Whitney's turn!

Whitney Port has finally confirmed her upcoming MTV show, The City, which will chronicle her move from Los Angeles to New York City as works under famous designer Diane Von Furstenberg.

A press release described it as, "Surrounded by all new friends, pursuing a fresh love life and starting to work in the upper echelon of the fashion industry is a lot to navigate for a new girl in the big city... especially one who has everything to lose...In a city full of people with their own agendas, Whitney will have to quickly decide who she can trust and who to stay away from."

Whitney released her own statement saying, "I am thrilled and honored to be in New York City, not only working for one of the most renowned fashion designers, Diane Von Furstenberg, but to be able to mature as a young woman both professionally and personally."  How sincere, sounds like a line she cut out of a cover letter and I'm sure watching The City will be about as interesting as reading a cover letter.  The show is set to premiere next spring, yawn.

We caught up with Whitney Port as she lunched with some friends by a fountain in Manhattan this afternoon.  The reality star is in the midst of her own spin off as she moved to New York from The Hills to work for designer Diane von Furstenberg.

Can we really imagine Whitney as the narrator of the show? And how many spin offs of Laguna Beach are there really going to be?  Pretty soon MTV will spin off into my life, I swear it's coming.

       

Stand back LC, Lo and Heidi-Whitney Port has got her own show now!  We spotted Whitney canoodling with a mysterious bearded man in Manhattan yesterday as they were shooting some footage for her new reality show.
If you watched The Hills last night, you know that Whitney just got a got a big, bi-costal promotion at her job at the People's Republic; I guess we're going to have to get used to her in this part of town.  Are you guys excited for this spin off, or are you over this reality crew?

     

Canada must be doing something right to get so many hot people all gathered together under one roof.  Chace Crawford and Brody Jenner were just among the many presenters who handed out awards at the 2008 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto over the weekend.  Rihanna was hot/creatively attired as she performed and took home a trophy for "Please Don't Stop the Music".  MTV reality stars Whitney Port and Kristin Cavallari who normally look great were also on hand in some atrocious dresses, I was not impressed. My favorite throw back hotties, New Kids on the Block were glad all in white, like the angels they are, even opening up the show!  I'm so glad to know that New Kids are getting some practice in, so by the time I see them in September their stage show will be perfected!

        

The annual Council of Fashion Designers of America awards dinner was held at the New York Public library and it appeared to be a 2 to 1 ratio of every two, beautiful ladies to one, well clad designer.  Francisco Costa had Ashley Olsen (smiling!) and Eva Mendes on each arm, while Eva Longoria cuddled up to Tom Ford.  Victoria Beckham shared laughs with her (other) main man Marc Jacobs and Hilary Duff chatted with Michael Kors.  Zac Posen had his arm around Rachel Zoe while Naomi Campbell dined with Andre Leon Talley, who you may remember from a cameo on the second season of The Hills (he put Whitney in the Costume Institute fashion that ran live on the air, then she fell down the stairs, haha).  Basically the whole thing looked like one creepy albeit completely glamorous prom.  I wonder if there was any creeping hands during the slow dance...

          

The ladies of The Hills were in streets of the Big Apple last evening to premiere the new season.  Clearly the girls aren't used to the east coast weather and looked pretty chilly in their frocks as they tried to stay bundled.  The premiere basically played out as the previews showed; Lauren and Whitney attend the ball in Paris, there's wardrobe malfunctions, Heidi and Spencer fight and Brody is scum.  As predictable as it may be I still plan to watch every epie and after show of course.  Speaking of after the show, Lauren and Whitney made their way over to the exclusive Beatrice Inn for a little recap and nightcap. 

What does the future hold for the ladies of The Hills?  Well one thing for certain is that they better start pounding the pavement because Teen Vogue has dropped their asses!  In the March issue of Teen Vogue, there will be an article about the trip the girls took to Paris at the end of the year (with episodes airing in the spring) and it will also list Lauren as an intern and Whitney as the West Coast Fashion Editor, but after that, they're dunzo!  Apparently Teen Vogue no longer wanted to be affiliated with

Not many stars opted to walk the red carpet at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, but thankfully these fine ladies chose to, and did it with style.  As you can see above, Rihanna sizzled in a hot pink, strapless, sweetheart dress.  But she wasn't the only one looking hot last night.  Check out Ashlee Simpson, Eve, Jennifer Garner, Mary J.
