Celebs turned up last night for the 5th Annual Food Bank for New York City's Can-Do Awards Dinner in the most interesting of apparel.  Gwyneth rocked some gladiator shoes and celebrity Mario Batali for some reason decided to keep his kitchen clogs on. Speaking of "chefs" what exactly is Rachel Ray trying to accomplish with that outfit?  I don't know if putting your boobs on display is really going to help raise money for the food bank, but nice try.  At least Petra Nemcova and Helena Christensen got it right, but they're models, so that's kind of an unfair advantage.

We saw Helena Christensen walking through the West Village today, looking distraught over the death of her friend Heath Ledger.  Helena was about to pay Heath a visit on Tuesday when she heard the news of his death "I was on my way over to pay him a visit when I found out," she says. "I had just left him a message and heard his voice on the machine."
A wave of sadness seems to be spreading over Hollywood as many of Heath's friends and even people who did not know him personally lament the loss of the young star. 

Supermodel Helena Christensen was looking sooo not like one of the most beautiful women in the world when we snapped these exclusive shots of her leaving a downtown NYC restaurant after eating with friends. Wrapped up warm against the Fall chill, great Dane Helena was almost unrecognisable but it's great when celebrities don't look their best.
