Fashion Awards? Really?

The Marie Claire Fashion Awards were held at the French Ambassador's residence in Madrid, Spain over the weekend and I can only presume that those who attended weren't necessarily nominated. Yee-ikes! Naomi Campbell showed up looking like she had a dead coyote around her neck, while designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada was kind of dressed like one of those little worry dolls from Latin America.  Elle MacPherson looked stunning in a silver and black dress and Jerry Hall just sort of looked like the older, crazy aunt version of her.  One of the stand outs from the evening had to be Monica Cruz, sister of Penelope who looked absolutely gorgeous in a red, satin gown and black peep toed shoes.  Keeping it simple definitely works in fashion as demonstrated by Cruz, however model Gemma Ward decided that it would be better to go for a dress, belt and boots combo, perhaps a bit much given the color scheme.  It kind of looks like an 80s prom dressed that was swallowed and then vomited back up again.  Per usual I don't get "fashion".
